This DVD is a historical record of the repatriation of three locomotives that ended their working lives at the world’s largest slate quarry at Penrhyn in North Wales. Lost to the United States and unseen for nearly half a century these locomotives are a time capsule complete in every way and another example of how significant this country’s gift of railways has been to the world.

A Huge debt of gratitude and thanks is owed to everyone who took part in this ambitious venture both in the US and UK. Winifred, Glyder and Ogwen’s homecoming marks the first step along a road which will eventually see these locomotives restored to their full working glory. It is hoped that sales of this DVD will play a small part in helping achieve that objective.
